Does Dull actually give me Instagram without Reels, or is it a read-only clone?
It's the real Instagram. Dull loads instagram.com inside a browser window on your phone and removes specific elements — the Reels tab, Reels in feed, Explore, suggested posts. Everything else works. DMs send. Stories post. Your account is your account.
Can I still see Reels if someone DMs me one?
Yes. The filter removes the Reels tab and the Reels carousel in-feed — the parts built to trap you. If a friend explicitly sends you a Reel in DMs, you can still watch it. You chose to open it. That is the difference.
Does it work on iPhone only?
Yes. Dull is an iOS app, iOS 16 and up. No Android version. No web version. No iPad-optimized layout yet — it runs on iPad but the UI is phone-first.
What about my account, passwords, two-factor?
Dull has no account of its own. You log into Instagram through Dull's browser the same way you would in Safari. Your credentials stay on your phone. Nothing leaves the device.
Why not just use Instagram's own 'take a break' reminder?
Because it reminds you. It doesn't remove anything. You still get served Reels, Explore, and suggested posts every time you open the app. Dull removes them so the temptation isn't there in the first place.
How much does it cost?
7-day free trial, then $3.99/mo or $14.99/yr or $59.99 lifetime. Every plan unlocks everything. No feature gates.

Apple Screen Time can limit your total time on Instagram. Safari content blockers can't touch the native app. Instagram's own 'daily limit' reminder can be dismissed in one tap. None of them actually remove Reels — they all either block Instagram entirely or pretend to be a speed bump. Dull is different: it gives you Instagram without Reels. The parts you came for still work. The parts designed to keep you scrolling don't exist.
