who we are
dull is operated by Kaspar Noor, a sole proprietor based in Estonia (Mäe 3, Kiili, Harjumaa, Estonia). when these terms say "we," "us," or "our," they refer to Kaspar Noor.
agreement with you
these terms are an agreement between you and Kaspar Noor only, and not with Apple. as between us and Apple, we are solely responsible for dull and its content, except where these terms expressly state otherwise.
what dull is
dull is a mobile app for iOS that loads social media platforms in a web view and applies filters to make them less sticky — hiding short-form content feeds, removing algorithmic content, enabling grayscale mode, adding friction gates before opening apps, enforcing daily time limits and scheduled quiet hours, delaying filter changes by 24 hours to reduce impulsive loosening, and locking settings behind an optional PIN. by using dull, you agree to these terms.
age requirement
you must be at least 13 years old to use dull. if you are between 13 and 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these terms on your behalf. we do not knowingly allow use by children under 13.
what you're agreeing to
dull provides access to third-party websites (Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, X) through a web view. we don't own, operate, or control those platforms. your use of those platforms is governed by their respective terms of service. dull just changes how content is displayed on your device.
third-party terms
when you use third-party services through dull, you must comply with those third parties' terms and policies. we are not responsible for third-party services or their content.
license scope
subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use dull on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms of service. this license also applies to updates that replace or supplement dull unless those updates are provided with separate terms. you may not rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense dull; make dull available over a network where it can be used by multiple devices at the same time; copy dull except as permitted by applicable law; or reverse engineer, disassemble, decompile, modify, or create derivative works of dull except where those restrictions are prohibited by law.
the service
- dull filters content client-side on your device. we don't guarantee that filters will work perfectly at all times — platforms change their code frequently.
- features like grayscale mode, friction gates, usage tracking, daily time limits, scheduled quiet hours, commitment delay, and PIN lock are provided as-is. their effectiveness depends on how you configure them.
- the PIN lock feature stores a hashed PIN in the iOS Keychain on your device. we do not have access to your PIN or any data stored locally on your device.
- we may update the app to fix filters, improve performance, or add features. updates are delivered through the App Store.
consent to data use
you agree that we and our subscription processor (RevenueCat) may process technical and transaction-related information needed to provide subscriptions, support, updates, and app functionality, as described in our privacy policy. we do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your browsing content for advertising profiling.
maintenance and support
Kaspar Noor is solely responsible for maintenance and support of dull. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for this app.
warranty and refunds
if dull fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price paid for dull (if any), to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to dull. as between us and Apple, we are responsible for warranty-related obligations not effectively disclaimed by these terms.
subscriptions
dull is a paid app. it includes a 7-day free trial, after which a subscription (dull pro) is required. subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and managed by RevenueCat.
- current subscription options are listed in the app and on the App Store product page (for example monthly and yearly plans); prices may vary by region and currency.
- subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- you can manage or cancel your subscription in your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- if offered, "lifetime access" means access for the lifetime of the dull app/service (while the app and service remain available), not for your personal lifetime.
- refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
product claims
Kaspar Noor, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to dull or your possession and/or use of dull, including product liability claims, claims that dull fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, claims that dull or your use of it infringes a third-party intellectual property right, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
legal compliance and export
you represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. you agree not to export or re-export dull except as authorized by United States law and the laws of the jurisdiction in which dull was obtained.
u.s. government end users
dull and related documentation are "commercial items" as defined in 48 C.F.R. §2.101, consisting of "commercial computer software" and "commercial computer software documentation" as those terms are used in 48 C.F.R. §12.212 or 48 C.F.R. §227.7202, as applicable. if acquired by or on behalf of the U.S. Government, use, reproduction, and disclosure are restricted in accordance with these terms.
your conduct
don't use dull to violate any laws or the terms of service of the platforms you access through it. dull is an app — what you do with it is on you.
intellectual property
dull, including its design, code, and brand, is owned by Kaspar Noor. the platforms you access through dull own their own content and trademarks. we don't claim any rights to their stuff.
disclaimer of warranties
dull is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. we do not warrant that dull will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that filters will work at all times.
nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer rights you may have under applicable law.
limitation of liability
to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Kaspar Noor shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of dull.
our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these terms or your use of dull is limited to the amount you have paid for dull in the 12 months preceding the claim.
apple third-party beneficiary
you acknowledge and agree that Apple, Inc. and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and that upon your acceptance of these terms, Apple will have the right to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
changes to these terms
we may update these terms. when we do, we will revise the effective date and version number at the top of this page. if we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or on our website. your continued use of dull after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
termination
you can stop using dull at any time by deleting the app. your rights under these terms terminate automatically if you materially breach these terms. we may also suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms.
governing law and disputes
these terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Estonia. any disputes arising from or relating to these terms shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Estonia. this does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence. the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to these terms.
severability
if any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
entire agreement
these terms, together with our privacy policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Kaspar Noor regarding your use of dull and supersede any prior agreements.
